A Brief history of jemima
Considering that Jemima made her debut in July 1908, she is still looking pretty good.
'The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck' shot our favourite duck to stardom overnight and her fame has continued since! Over the years, her story has been published in many different languages and has also been adapted for both television and ballet.
Never one to be far from the limelight, Jemima has also put in two film appearances more recently -'Peter Rabbit ' (2012) and 'Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway' (2018).
Miss Puddleduck is also well-known for pushing boundaries. Not only was she one of the first Beatrix Potter characters to appear on a fifty pence, she also happens to be one of the rarest. Needless to say, coin collectors become quite animated (not in the same way as Jemima in the aforementioned films) when they catch sight of an elusive Puddleduck fifty pence!
